The hero is sitting at a desk in the classroom.
It is a history lesson. A strict and smart teacher goes back and forth between pupils telling about one historical event.
Our hero was not one of her favorite students, because it seemed that he did not show much interest in learning and was often late and always took the last place at the back of the class. And also such a position provided a convenient opportunity to discreetly look at Nicky.
It was a very ordinary day, except that he was not late. He sat at his Desk and tried to listen carefully to the teacher. As suddenly he began to feel that something was changing in himself – a slight dizziness and a throbbing headache attacked him, but he tried not to attract attention to himself and sat quietly just covering his face with a hand so that no one could see what was tormenting him.
When the teacher said to open the illustration in the textbook on page number 77, he began to have difficulty turning pages – his fingers seemed to be unable to catch on the page and fell through the textbook.
The teacher saw the turmoil happening at the hero and slowly went to his Desk. He barely managed to turn a few pages while the teacher was approaching him. Finally, the fingers again began to confidently feel the surface of the paper and turn the pages without difficulty right at that moment when the teacher could clearly see what was happening on his desk. Then he looked at the teacher, who had come very close at the time and was looking at him with a little suspicion.
After making sure that he flipped to the correct page, after a couple of moments it turned around and slowly went towards the board. He sat very confused, not knowing what was happening to him, or whether he was imagining it all.
When the teacher was far away enough, he looked around with relief, as if checking if anyone had noticed what happened here.
The teacher went to the board continuing to tell the story. Silence reigned in the class, because everyone loved to listen to her, but our hero hardly listened to her fascinating story.
Not possessing much perseverance and always distracted by something, our hero began to twist the pen in his hand, as he often did. It turned out adroitly, but then the pen fell and produced an unusually loud sound in the silence.
Almost all students turn in his direction. Most of them have a deprecating expression on their faces. Some girls had expressions that fluctuated between judgmental and sympathetic.
The teacher herself turns to look at him, just as he picks up his pen from the floor. He looked at her guiltily, as if apologizing for the accident. After a slightly stern look at him, she does not linger long and continues the story.
After just a couple of seconds, our hero falls off the chair (he passes through the chair because of his manifesting abilities) producing a much greater crack than his pen.
This time, not all students turn around, someone just sits disapprovingly shaking his head. But the teacher turns around again this time raising one eyebrow – as if to say “seriously?”
This time the hero feels he owns an apology for being too loud.
Our Hero
Sorry…
He realizes that something is going wrong here and decides to leave the classroom. He tries several times to grab his briefcase, but only the third time his hand does not slip through the backpack handle.
Finally, he grabs the briefcase and literally flies out of the classroom.
