Metamorphosis Scene #3: School backyard

Scene 3: School backyard

John rides his bike to school through the city – on the way he meets a lot of posters with candidates for mayor of the city. Obviously, there will be elections soon.

The hero reaches the school parking lot.

While he is parking and securing his bike in the parking lot for bicycles – he sees children from prosperous families arrive at school on machines cars – they are laughing – not over our hero – they barely notice him, they are just having fun, carefree spending time. They seem to be in this mood all the time.

Having fastened the Bicycle, John is heading to the entrance to the school. Passing on a lawn he sees as the Girl – Nicky and her two friends hanging out with the “popular” guys of this school – high school students. One couple is hugging. Another couple: a guy gives a girl a phone – she is flattered and grateful – because it is a new phone. There are a few other guys, one of whom is trying to “roll-up” to Nicky. She listlessly reacts to courtship, but does not reject him.

That guy

Listen, next Saturday, the parents go out of town and the house will be free for the whole weekend. I’m having a party. I hope you will be there too.

Nicky

I don’t know, I probably won’t be able to go – there is a big test the next day, and I was going to be studying the whole weekend preparing for it.

One of the girlfriends

Come on, you’re sitting at the textbooks all the time. If there is somebody who could pass any test without preparing – then this is our Nicky!

Nicky

Have you just called me a nerd? But so nicely… 🙂

Another girlfriend

Yeah, but she’s right – you’re like those boy scouts – be prepared! You know!? 🙂 Come on, agree – we have tests every month, and such a party – that happens only once a year.

One of the girlfriends

I heard that there is a pool!

Another girlfriend

Let me say on behalf of all of us, we wanna go so badly, but without our Nicky we won’t go anywhere!

Nicky

This is what they call a blackmail 🙂 Okay, I can’t promise I’ll go, but I promise to think about it…

(girlfriends begin to rejoice and hug Nicky)

Our hero sees this scene, passing by, and picks up small, but key fragments of the conversation.

Hero

(speaking to himself)

House with a swimming pool…, not a big deal! My imaginary parents have two swimming pools! Yes, that’s it, you heard me!

The bell rings, and the guys begin to go to school. John also directed to the entrance, and in the dormitory roommates there were intently present local hooligans – in the park near the school.

The bell rings, and everybody begins to enter the school. John also was heading to the entrance, but out of the corner of his eye has caught something – his roommate is being bullied by 4 local hooligans – in the Park at the school.

He stops and looks closer, and when he sees how the hooligans begin to taunt his neighbor, pulling his hat over his eyes, he rushes to his aid. He uses his anger and goes to save his neighbor…

Long story short – when he stood up the bullies got even angrier and beat them both. When they were gone, our hero and the neighbor were still lying on the ground. They began to slowly get up, dust themselves off and generally come to their senses. Both had torn clothes, backpacks, and their contents “gutted”. The boy was bleeding from his nose Our hero had a huge black eye and a couple of bruises here and there. Furthermore, both of them had no shoes – the shoes were tied up and thrown high up on old and seems to be a dead tree nearby.

Our Hero

(our hero decided to cheer up the mood by saying)

How are you?

The neighbor

Fu** you, before you showed up, they just wanted me to let them write off the homework!

It’s starting to rain. Our hero decides to get their shoes. When our hero climbs a tree for shoes, lightning hits him, he breaks off the tree and falls to the ground.

Despite what happened, he quickly comes to his senses and doesn’t feel any pain. He just goes to school as if nothing had happened.
